A renovation becomes a transformation when a house of small, dark rooms opens into a home where architectural lines flow vertically and horizontally to reveal an emporium for space. Walls were replaced by windows to bring in the play of sun on gardens and lakes and alpine vistas.
Tractors and Jack Hammers altered a mountain to create room for billiards and a health spa with sauna and jacuzzi. Floors were connected holistically by replacing a staircase inspired by Tannhauser with one which floats alongside an atrium of light.
